Its Backwards Day at Rocks in my Dryer

OK Its Backwards Day for WFMW over at Rocks in my Dryer which means instead of posting a tip I get to ask for tips. :) It was hard to decide on just one thing to ask about.
So my question is for the blogging mamas. :) How do you find time to post and make your blog successful? CJ is such a handful and then with housework and the new business I'm having a hard time finding the time to blog. So how do you do?

Mrs. B,

I often write my posts ahead of time, at night or on the weekends, so I can quickly tweak and post them in the mornings.

Oh, the eternal question of how to fit blogging in to the schedule! It really is hard. It was easier for me when my second son was a sleepy newborn and my older son was at school. Now that I have a busy toddler who is into everything, it seems much harder. I've learned to not pressure myself, to try to get a few posts up per week, but to not worry if some are short. Like Carrie, I try to get some good writing time in in the evenings, after the kids are in bed. I also keep a list of "blog post ideas" so that when I do have some spare time, I don't spend all of it trying to come up with something to write about!

i stay up late:-)

no seriously, sometimes i'll lay out all the posts for the week. maybe i won't write them but i'll decide on all the topics so i don't have to sit at the computer wondering what to write. that helps. plus the weekly carnivals help to define the week...

Well, I'm pretty knew to public blogging - just a couple of weeks - so I don't know if mine is the kind of successful that you are curious about or not. I think it's successful if it provides joy or release for you when you write! As far as the time...I either do it when kids are in school and Mr. Brownstone is at work but AFTER my daily work is done, or I do it late at night when I can't sleep, or I do it after the kids are in bed on a night that Mr. Brownstone has an XBOX night!

Hope that helps!
Cute baby!

If you have DSL and the computer is on and in a viewable location all day then you can take 5 minutes here and there to check other blogs. At night, while I'm trying to fall asleep I usually think of what I want to write about. Then, in the morning while the kids are eating I sit at the computer w/ my bowl of cereal. It's "my" time and then we are all good to go for the day! (Also, don't feel the pressure to blog everyday, that'll come in time.)

My children are older and help with the housework. :)

I make myself post first before reading any other blogs for the day!

Homeschool, blogging Mom of 11 here... My tips for squeezing in guilt-free blogging: Put on a load of laundry, blog for 10 minutes; wash 6 dishes, blog for 10 minutes; eat breakfast while blogging, then start school. Correct 1 math paper, blog a little. Tickle two year old with foot while blogging. Leave house on field trip so as to avoid temptation to blog. Put dinner on stove, blog while it simmers. Put children to bed, blog awhile. Feel bad for blogging too much, d-termine not to blog so much tomorrow. Get up in morning, repeat.
